FAQs

If you have additional questions or need more clarity regarding our program, please contact us and we will respond promptly.

How is this different from regular English classes?

We don’t sit in classrooms memorizing vocabulary. Instead, kids learn English by doing—they hike, explore, and solve challenges, using English as a real communication tool in authentic situations.

What activities are included?

You can refer to the weekly schedule for full program details, but here’s an overview of the exciting experiences your child will enjoy over the 12-week course:

  • Outdoor Adventures: Forest exploration, wildlife observation, scavenger hunts, nature trail hikes, plant identification and nature studies, rock climbing and bouldering, stream crossing and water games.
  • Team Challenges: Group problem-solving missions, rope-based obstacle courses, and outdoor cooking as a team.
  • Survival Skill Training: Map reading and basic orienteering, campfire cooking, and essential first aid techniques.
Who’s Teaching & How Many Students per Class?

To ensure high-quality learning and personalized care, each session is limited to a maximum of 15 students, with at least three instructors present at all times.

Our core teaching team combines ESL (English as a Second Language) expertise with years of outdoor education experience:

  • Aoife Sheppard: 9-year ESL teacher and Irish camping enthusiast
  • Ryan McAnernin: PE teacher and mountain biking enthusiast
  • Kevin McCoy: STEAM/ESL teacher, marathoner, and mountain climber
Where do activities happen?

All sessions take place at various outdoor locations around Taipei—such as forest trails, parks, and mountains—which serve as our natural classrooms.

Is it suitable for different English levels?

Yes! Our program is designed to support all basic English levels. Activities are tailored so every child can grow through real-life interaction—regardless of where they start.

What should students bring?

The Saturday Adventure Club proceeds rain or shine! That's why we require students to bring rain gear/waterproof jackets.

  • Easy-to-carry snacks for quick energy during outdoor activities
  • Mosquito repellent
  • Sunscreen / Sun protection
  • Comfortable walking or athletic shoes
  • Lightweight raincoat or waterproof jacket
